Fixed infinite lag hack spinning you around while you are mounted in a vehicle. Tweaked infinite lag hack fix to flying into space. Preview image raytracer now supports basic transparency. Fixed console errors when pressing 'e' while loading. Increased maximum packet size from 450 to 1023. Fixed sunflare being affected by visible distance.
Fixed case where the 127.x.x.x and 0.x.x.x range of IP addresses are not detected as LAN addresses.
Fixed case where preview image raytracer could get stuck in an infinite loop. Fixed case where ghost brick would disappear and cause a "fxDTSBrick::onRemove - still in renderNode!" assert. Fog removed from dynamic bricks - looks weird when some bricks fog and others do not. Brickcount reported to master server should now be more robust. Preview image raytracer is now automatically centered on average brick position unless a center is specified via /setpreviewcenter. Preview image raytracer now stops when loading bricks and restarts when loading finishes. Fixed tiny gaps between river and non-river water bricks caused by rendering delay. Fixed water bricks not loading properly. Tweaked water bricks slightly to reduce z fighting with 8x cube bricks. If you need the mission editor or gui editor you can use the add-on based version. Removed broken/slow support for the editor.zip mod. All files must be downloaded through the new system, which I guess is fine because it is really fast. The game no longer adds files that you have downloaded from previous versions to the database cache (the "Building Cache Database." phase) because people are apparently afraid of progress bars that take a long time. BLOCKLAND COLORSET EDITOR MAC
Fixed mac issue where cache.db would be placed directly onto the hard drive instead of the Blockland folder, causing the game to not work for many people. Fixed not being able to run more than one copy of the game from the same folder due to cache.db being locked. Fixed issue where files contained in zips would always be rehashed when rebuilding the filemanifest due to file modify time not being read correctly. Squelched "could not open '', skipping." messages. Fixed CDN downloads not being cleaned up properly when connection is canceled. Fixed inconsistent behavior of attaching water bricks inside normal bricks and vice versa. Fixed escape button functionality broken in v18. Users were also able to add friends and view a tab on them, allowing said player to view what server their friends are on and join them. Alongside this, there was a chat system implemented that allowed players to have private chats as well as converse in public chatrooms. BLOCKLAND COLORSET EDITOR MOD
A mod manager was added, allowing the user to download, enable, disable, and delete add-ons. RTB's in-game features vastly improved Blockland's appeal. Unapproved Add-Ons can, however, still be used.
BLOCKLAND COLORSET EDITOR CODE
This was to prevent any damaged or harmful add-ons from being available for (easier) public download by reviewing the code of an add-on, and then deciding if it is of high enough quality to be presented on their downloads system. RTB was moderated by Ephialtes, Lub, Space Guy, and a few other less-active users. Many theories have been made on why RTB was shut down, one of the most popular being that Ephialtes decided to quit blockland and no longer wanted to fund RTB. The website no longer exists and when trying to turn on the add-on, it will not connect to the RTB servers (since they no longer exist). Prior to March 1st, 2014, on the RTB website a notice was posted saying "This service will be unavailable from March 1st, 2014, please download anything you wish to keep before this date".
BLOCKLAND COLORSET EDITOR UPDATE
After the beta test period was over, the update was released to the public boasting a totally revamped chat system, no longer relying on the often-down IRC system, and a miniature social networking feature allowing for a friends list, and allowing friends to easily connect to one anothers' servers. Information on the beta can be found at the ingame manual. In late 2011, a beta for a later version of RTB was released to a select 50 members.
BLOCKLAND COLORSET EDITOR MODS
At the time, it featured an ingame portal to the RTB website, in which the users could download mods from, a colorset manager, easier Add-Ons manager, and a portal to the IRC chatroom, #rtb. Return To Blockland as a content manager was released in late 2008, when Ephialtes, it's creator, posted it on the Add-Ons board. This article is about an Add-on, meaning it has to be downloaded from a third-party and does not reflect the default content of the game.
